Kathy Groob: Cold-hearted, bitter and unneighborly politician
September 2, 2010
Bitter politician Kathy Groob sends heartless note to burglary victim:
So, I'd just had a break-in at the house here in Old Seminary Square, Covington. While waiting for permanent security fixes, I'd wrapped a chain around a pole in the back, as the police recommended, to keep the damaged chain-linked fence near the alley in place. Makes sense, doesn't it?
Then, I get a letter on Tuesday from that bitter politician Kathy Groob, demanding that I remove the chain because, she claims, it's wrapped around her pole. What I do know is that the pole is on my property, and the chain will stay there until the new fences are installed.
Gee, thought I was getting a "sorry your house was broken into, let's work together for better neighborhood security" pro-active letter of concern. (Not.)
Totally heartless. Selfish. Unneighborly. Bitter.
First, she gets cited by the city of Covington last December 2009 for that secret drainage pipe spewing gallons of water; now this. Good gosh, does she care at all about her neighbors?
Well, the neighborhood doesn't seem to care about her. When Groob tripped herself up on the neighborhood Facebook page, she got a thorough thrashing by some page followers -- and nobody came to her defense.
Groob also posted a demand that neighbors not go to Old Seminary Square at Facebook -- and nobody paid attention to her. To date, the page has 784 followers.
Now I understand why people in Kathy Groob's old neighborhood didn't vote for her in 2008. In her new neighborhood of Old Seminary Square, Groob has been known to engage in name-calling against people living here. Names like "freak," and "weirdo people," and "jerks," and "negative."
When the neighborhood held a holiday home tour, Groob bitterly complained that people dirtied her floors and then slammed the event as a waste of money.
Indeed, others have recognized this bitter, mean-spiritness about Mrs. Groob. For example, Kentucky political writer Jake Payne noted it at his blog last year:
"In my opinion, she's just one of the bitters who can't deal with accomplishing jack shiz politically in her old age. She's one, giant hypocrite," Payne wrote at PageOneKentucky.
